Nothing was scarier that wire transferring our last $5,000 USD to a "random" manufacturer in China after "frivolously" spending $60,000 on a year-long round-the-world honeymoon, but we knew one thing - we weren't going back.
We weren't swiping-in our badges after a 40 min commute in tears in Chicago traffic, making sure our mouse stayed moving throughout the day to keep our Slack status active, or rearranging an entire day just to sit through a 60 min meeting that "should have been an email".
The best thing we learned on our trip around in the world in 2015-2016 was that there were a hell-of-a-lot of people living life out there on their own terms, so we could too.
AND THEN

This blurry iPhone 8 photo, taken in the Kimpton Austin, of Tim jumping on the bed, was taken in March 2018 while he celebrated consistently making $1000/day revenue ($500/day profit).
This day came only 5 months after he quit his temp job in October 2017 after hitting the milestone of consistently hitting $100/day profit.
The road from that day hasn't been completely linear, but building our business has given us a life we never even had enough courage to dream of.
HOW IS THIS REAL
WE MUST BE DREAMING
After scraping through Covid in 2020 with a travel business, we were sure we would make it through anything, but not entirely sure some other world-crushing event wouldn't happen again...we are Millennials after all...
I think there were a few stand-out moments, like this one, where we'd "check in on the business" to realize that ... we must be dreaming.

THE ROAD TO 10 MILLION
Starting off as YouTubers, "10 Million" seemed like a far away people in our industry were chasing in terms of views, subscribers, or engagement numbers.
Never would we have ever dreamed that the first time hitting a "10 Million" number was in dollars.
Here, in our favorite breakfast diner in Colorado in April 2024, we finally got confirmation from our tax professional that we, in fact, had submitted our 2023 taxes with a total revenue of
$10,257,782.53

Now, let me assure you, that's not the number in our bank account right now... (or anytime soon). But, at the end of the year, the small profit percentage that landed in our account that year, and all the other years building Tripped has been more than we know we ever would have had access to, even as high performing individuals in our corporate careers.
The dream one day is to sell Tripped for a number like that, (hey and THEN all that money goes into your bank account) and then spend the rest of our days skiing, traveling, and sipping coconut water in Maui, but, until then, let me help you get to this point too.
